We have successfully completed the control pre-assembly for the supporting steel structure for the plant in Brevik, Norway. This facility will be used for capturing, liquefying and temporarily storing CO2 that is emitted during cement production.

We made this 160-ton-project including statics and engineering, while it was important to respect the specifics of this construction: Due to the high dynamic load, very robust HEM profiles and atypical heavy-duty gratings with a load capacity of 500 kg/m2 must have been used, which is not common in technological structures. At the same time, the structure had to comply with the complicated pipe system going through it.

The plant in Brevik is scheduled to go into operation at the end of 2024, making it the first large-scale plant of this type in the world. Similar technologies for reducing CO2 emissions should also be used in power plants, cement works, in the steel industry as well as petrochemicals and help to contribute in achieving climate goals.
