TMETAL to supply steel structures for SIEMENS in Egypt

TMETAL is pleased to announce a new deal for SIEMENS to manufacture and deliver steel structures for 8 units in a newly built power station in Egypt. We will supply the structures for the gas turbine acoustic enclosure with a total weight of 450 t.

This is part of a project where Siemens is building 3 new gas plants and 12 wind farms, adding 16.4 GW to the Egyptian national grid. The proposed developments are likely to boost the country´s power generation capacity by more than 50%. Egypt is currently going through its worst energy crisis in decades, with power cuts frequently occurring due to its aging infrastructure and increasing demand.

According to Siemens, the power stations will be the biggest in the world.

TMETAL is a certified supplier of steel structures in the energy sector for Siemens, GE and Alstom. These structures will be delivered during 2016 and 2017.
